The way all this started was Ken Baker decided that for something to do he would organise a 'gambling evening'. Contrary to the name, it would involve no real gambling, it's just a game.
And so it came to pass that the first gambling evening was held in the summer of '99. A great time was had by all, and the winner of the event, by a margin of one point, was Nick F. He received a trophy, and people got on with their lives, little did we know it then, but the gambling evening was not dead...
